Bill Moyers on What’s Wrong With Our Media

"It’s important who owns the press, as we’ve just seen and heard…but it’s also important who decides what is news. Why wasn’t it news last weekend when more than 100,000 people turned out in 11 cities across the country to protest the occupation of Iraq … but if you blinked while watching the national news, you wouldn’t have known it was a story?"

When asked to renounce the following if elected: torture; signing statements; detentions of US citizens as enemy combatants; illegal spying on American citizens; executive privilege as a shield against oversight; prosecuting journalists; using secret evidence; suspending habeas corpus; etc, ONLY ONE candidate agreed to sign. Bush to Democrats: "We are at war!"
More Proof that Mr. Bush is crazy and leading the country in the wrong direction.
President Bush compared Congress' Democratic leaders Thursday with people who ignored the rise of Lenin and Hitler early in the last century, saying "the world paid a terrible price" then and risks similar consequences for inaction today.
"History teaches us that underestimating the words of evil, ambitious men is a terrible mistake," Bush said. The problem is that he sees himself on the side of good. Unfortunately, as a guy who believes torture is fine, he is more like Lenin and Hitler.

More Proof That Cheney Is In Charge: He Mulled Israeli Strike On Iran

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Vice President Dick Cheney had at one point considered asking Israel to launch limited missile strikes at an Iranian nuclear site to provoke a retaliation, Newsweek magazine reported on Sunday.
Newsweek said former Cheney Middle East adviser David Wurmser told a small group several months ago that Cheney was considering asking Israel to strike the Iranian nuclear site at Natanz.
A military response by Iran could give Washington an excuse to then launch airstrikes of its own, Newsweek said.

Greg Palast
YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.
Greg Palast is a New York Times-bestselling author[1] and a journalist for the British Broadcasting Corporation[2] as well as the British newspaper The Observer.[3] His work frequently focuses on corporate malfeasance but has also been known to work with labor unions and consumer advocacy groups. Notably, he has claimed to have uncovered evidence that Florida Governor Jeb Bush, Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris, and Florida Elections Unit Chief Clay Roberts, along with the ChoicePoint corporation, rigged the ballots during the US Presidential Election of 2000 and again in 2004 when, he argued, the problems and machinations from 2000 continued, and that challenger John Kerry actually would have won if not for disproportional "spoilage" of Democratic votes.
